Local Chick Info & Policies

I will incubate according to what eggs are available after egg preorders have been filled.

You will be given a list at pickup via text of what your breeds are. Each chick will be banded with a temporary band by egg color. Temporary bands will need to be removed within a month (they can grow into a chicks leg and cause permanent damage if not removed) and you will need to find another way to identify your birds. Zip ties are a good way to mark them. Again, make sure you change their banding as they grow.

On local pickups, I will set a time with you for pickup when chicks are available.

We expect pre ordered chicks to be picked up within 48 hours unless an emergency or situation that can't be prevented is communicated with us. We understand life happens. Please respect our time and care for the birds as well.

  • There is $1 boarding fee per chick for every week I hold for pickup, after 2 weeks if chicks are not picked up, they will be considered abandoned and will be relisted and any money paid will be forfeited and used for the critters here on the Farm.
  • Feed, Electricity and time for care are not free

Please note all preorders are considered final and any cancelations will not be refunded.

If for any reason your chick order is not fulfilled you will be refunded your $25 deposit.

Local Live Pickup Guarantee - Any babies that do not survive must be reported to me within 24 hours of pickup and will need to include loss pictures and brooder setup with temp visible in order to qualify for replacement or reimbursement.

Please have the proper education and information on how to brood chicks prior to purchase. Ideally, it's best to have your brooder setup before you pick up your chicks so they're ready to be placed in their new brooder right away.

Further Egg/Chick info

I understand everyone wants Pullets, but you have to understand that Cockerels hatch too.  If I have grow outs available, they will be sold mostly in pairs.  As of right now, I will not be selling any single pullets unless they're sexlinked at hatch or unless I have a large number of just girls.

All chicks are sold straight run unless posted otherwise.

  • I am not responsible if you end up with more Cockerels than you prefer if you buy straight-run chicks.  Straight run is straight run.  I cannot sex birds for months.  I do not vent sex birds. There does come a time I can make an educated guess, based on development but even then, I can still be wrong.

We cannot let you pick through all of the chicks at pickup to choose your chicks. You maybe able to choose from a box that we show you but it's hands off until you decide which chicks you want.

Just like you're unable to handle chicks at the feed store. We have to practice proper bio security and prevent any germs or bacteria getting into our brooders.

I do not take back Cockerels/ or birds. Please be prepared to care for the birds you purchase.
